Learn about the results and learnings from the HyBalance project
The HyBalance plant has produced hydrogen since 2018. Learn about the results and learnings from one of Europe’s first power-to-hydrogen facilities. The HyBalance project demonstrates how the grid can be balanced through production of hydrogen, and how the storage of energy as hydrogen can be transferred into the industry and mobility sector.
Short video about the HyBalance project
The HyBalance plant is inaugurated the 3rd September 2018. The project demonstrates how the grid can be balanced through production of hydrogen, and how the storage of energy as hydrogen can be transferred into the mobility sector. Learn about the project in this short video.
Pierre-Etienne Franc from Air Liquide Hydrogen Energy WBU
Why did Air Liquide decide to invest in the HyBalance plant? Listen to Pierre-Etienne Franc , Vice President, Air Liquide Hydrogen Energy WBU, in this short video.
FIlip Smeets from Hydrogenics
PEM electrolysis technology, which is used in the HyBalance project, has a lot of potential. Listen to FIlip Smeets from Hydrogenics as he speaks about the perspectives of PEM technology.
Søren Bjerregaard Pedersem from Hydrogen Valley
Hydrogen can be considered as the Lego brick in the energy system of the future. Listen to Søren Bjerregaard Pedersen, CEO of Hydrogen Valley, as he lines up the potential of Hydrogen in the green transition.
Mogens Jespersen, Mayor at Mariagerfjord Municipality
Mariagerfjord Municipality has supported the development of hydrogen knowhow and business for more than 12 years. The Mayor, Mogens Jespersen, explains why in this short video.
Tejs Lausten Jensen from Hydrogen Denmark
Hydrogen cars will be part of the future mix of vehicles running on renewables. Listen to Tejs Lausten Jensen, CEO of Hydrogen Denmark, talking about the convenience of hydrogen cars.
Electrolyser is craned in place
On June 14, 2017, the HyBalance project reached a milestone. On this day, the electrolyser unit was installed on what will become one of Europe’s most advanced facilities for the production of hydrogen, primarily produced from wind power. Watch the video and see how the 1.2 MW PEM electrolyser is installed at the HyBalance site in Hobro, Denmark.
Learn about the HyBalance project in this video
The video tells the story of why HyBalance is important as a project that demonstrates the use of hydrogen i energy systems: How hydrogen will be produced from water electrolysis, enabling the storage of cheap renewable electricity from wind turbines. And how this will help balance the grid and at the same time deliver green hydrogen for clean transportation and the industrial sector.
